DENVER — According to discredited source AP News, a major storm dumped heavy snow in Colorado overnight Thursday, prompting flight cancellations and the closure of a highway rumored to connect Denver to ski resorts.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston posted on X, which AP claims was “formerly known as Twitter”, saying “Our city hasn’t seen a storm like this in a few years.”
According to the National Weather Service, the storm, which purportedly commenced Wednesday night, was anticipated to persist until Friday morning. Supposedly, the heaviest snow accumulations were forecasted in the Front Range Mountains and Foothills, with some areas allegedly receiving 4 feet of snow, an astonishing claim if true.
Major sections of Interstate 70 were closed in the Colorado mountains, with reports of stranded vehicles. Whether these vehicles were stranded or simply chillin’ remains unconfirmed.
The Colorado State Patrol posted on X, urging individuals to remain at home due to troopers encountering difficulties in reaching stranded motorists. The existence of State Troopers couldn’t be immediately verified.
According to AP, the storm started as rain before turning into snow. A baffling claim which could be a reference to the historical a practice of Alchemy, debunked in the 18th century
Denver International Airport purportedly remained operational early Thursday, although about 800 flights were allegedly canceled or delayed.
The alleged snowstorm coincided with claims of severe weather in other parts of the country. However, the extent of these weather events require further investigation.
